1. Snake Venom Facial at Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic, Los Angeles, California
Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore and Madonna are all fans of this scary facial. Venom from Temple Viper snakes is used during a simple massage and masque process. It relaxes the muscles completely. Sonya (Spa Owner) promises younger looking, more beautiful skin. Be prepared to pay though. This facial goes for $385.
2. Bird Poo Facial at Hotel Wailea, Maui, Hawaii
At $225 for an 80 minute weekly recommended treatment you would expect a lot more than poo but the clients at this spa in Maui swear by it. Poo from Nightingales is treated with UV rays to kill bacteria (nice to know!) then pulverized into a fine brown odorless powder. This is then mixed with water to form a paste which is supposed to tone and firm the skin. It has bleaching properties and exfoliates as well. This doesn’t appeal to me! Would you try this facial? Let me know!
3. Fish Pedicure at Sampouton Spa, Selangor, Malaysia
Forget using a regular old foot file to get rid of dead skin. This hour long soak involves tiny garra rufa aka flesh eating fish nibbling away at your feet. They are nicknamed “doctor fish” and literally nibble off your dead skin. Clients describe it as a mild tickling sensation. I’m extremely ticklish so no thank you! It’s not badly priced at only $50 for an hour.
4. Snake Massage at Ada Barak’s Carnivorous Snake Farm, Talmey El’ Azar, Israel
Okay, so out of all the pamper packages, this takes the cake for sure. A variety of non-venomous serpents are dropped onto your naked body for this massage. It apparently is incredibly soothing and eases aches and pains. Larger King and Corn snakes provide a deep massage, while smaller Milk snakes flicker over the skin for a soothing fluttering sensation.
Now is that weird or what?!
If you had to, which treatment would you go for?
